417 S Fountain Avenue Springfield, OH 45506

Welcome home to the WHITELEY-COBLENTZ HOUSE in the SOuth FOuntain Historic District. The 'SOFO' District's tree-lined streets and architecturally rich neighborhood provides unique living right in our city, just a short walk to restaurants, live music and social hubs. 417 S. Fountain is a grand Italianate style that dates back to 1865 when William N. Whiteley, known to be one of Springfield's greatest contributors, built the home. In the early 2000s, the house was separated into 6 apartments but since 2014, the owners have thoughtfully and lovingly restored it back to an elegant single residence. Today, this home has an option of 6 bedrooms, one possible on the main level where there is a full bath. A chef's kitchen including a Zline 6-burner double oven and a vintage shop counter serving as an island and a unique penny floor, a butler's pantry with industrial stainless shelving, a serving pantry/coffee station, dining room, a parlor/drawing room, and a rear entry boot/mud room to come in from the paver patio. On the 2nd floor you'll find an additional 5 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Previously maid's quarters, the true master suite updated in 2022, will include a king canopy bed, a copper claw foot tub, a huge closet with built-ins, a sauna and laundry. Another bedroom is a child's dream with a custom-built rock-climbing wall. So many updates to this property! The backyard is a beautiful oasis with mature trees and landscaping along with a shed. This property and the neighboring property share a 6' privacy fence. Take the opportunity to tour this beautiful, stately home today!
